Animus

Inspired by my long relationship with dogs and love for their wild cousins. This was constructed after I met a wolf face to face at a wolf sanctuary. She passed thirteen people, making a direct line to me. Having her inspect and accept me was a powerful moment. Wolves embody the Yang or active principle to the living experience and is complimentary to the Yin. This figure represents the first step of exploration into the duality I see between the wolf and doe. (For more info see “Works in Progress/ Wolf’s Belly”.) Constructed using the mold from a tightly refined wolf figure, fired, painted and reconstructed after firing.
